Maintain your floor.

Once a week go through all the shelves and drawers in your refrigerator and throw away anything that isn’t fit to eat. Make your menu plan and grocery list right after you do this. That way you remember to use those foods that are about to expire.
Hood.
Most stove hoods have a metal screen that you can easily remove to replace the filter. Be sure to replace the filter according to the manufacturer’s directions to keep your hood functioning optimally. The metal screen should be washed regularly – maybe once a month. This will keep it from getting a heavy build-up of grease which is hard to get off.
Grease.
Speaking of grease, what if you haven’t been practicing regular maintenance and have let things get out of hand? Old grease can be really difficult to get rid of. One of the best grease cutters is washing soda and hot water, but you must be careful to protect yourself (gloves and even goggles) if you need to go this route.
